Everything about Dolcetti Savoiardi — what they are, how they're different, how to use them, and how to order — in one place.
01 About Savoiardi & Tiramisu
Savoiardi, also known as ladyfinger biscuits, are light, egg-leavened Italian sponge biscuits with a crisp exterior and airy crumb, traditionally used to build the layers of tiramisu.
Savoiardi are baked to be dry and structured rather than soft, so they can absorb espresso and liqueur without dissolving, holding their shape inside a chilled dessert.
A standard 8-inch tiramisu (two layers) typically uses 22–24 ladyfingers, which is roughly two 200g Dolcetti packets depending on biscuit size.
Yes — Savoiardi work well in charlottes, trifles, icebox cakes, and any layered dessert that calls for a crisp biscuit that softens gradually once dipped or layered.
